In a world plagued by spontaneous human combustion, individuals transform into destructive fire-wielding beings known as Infernals. The Special Fire Force Company 8, comprised of pyrokinetic individuals, battles these Infernals while uncovering the mysteries behind their origins. Shinra Kusakabe, a young firefighter with the ability to ignite his feet, joins the team to become a hero. As he fights flames and confronts dangerous foes, he also seeks to understand his family's tragic past linked to the phenomenon.
