Sauron, having been cast out by Galadriel, returns to Middle-earth to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. He works to corrupt the Elven smith Celebrimbor and manipulate the Elves to his sinister will. Meanwhile, Galadriel and other characters face the rising tide of darkness, strained friendships, and fracturing kingdoms as they struggle to hold onto the hope of good in a world on the brink of calamity. The season builds to the construction of the various Rings of Power, a significant event that shapes the future of Middle-earth.
